Executive Summary
Rent a Shared Room (RASR)
>These are assessments related to Satisfaction with Housing and Living Arrangements. All of this data was Self-scored (SS) by Keith “Buster” Torkelson MS. For both Julie Paulino’s and Gloria Shanks Guest Home we would help out promoting their Beds in the community. The use of Room & Board and Board & Care are tired old terms. Group Homes also has stigma associated with it. It is more appropriate to call them all Rent a Shared Rooms (RASRs). Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Single Resident Occupancy (SRO) works for some yet many consumers require Renting a Shared Room.
Oversight
>At Julie Paulino’s the rooms were always kept down to two occupants. At Shanks’ Guest Home half of the rooms were three persons. Three persons are too many in one room. In par with this, no bunk beds should be allowed. Room & Boards’ differ from Board and Cares in that the former is unlicensed and the latter is licensed. No entity oversees what goes on in a Room & Board.
All items in this report were scored by Keith Torkelson MS.
