Introduction

The Inception of Satisfaction (2007)

>Back in 2007 I graduated from Westminster Therapeutic Residential Center (WTRC) services to Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA) services.  In the lobby of the Costa Mesa Clinic (CMC) they had literature that included a Satisfaction Survey.  We have included it at the end of this paper.  It was not in a form for Easy Scoring so we transformed it.  My first transformation yielded 49 Items about the theme: How satisfied are you with…The second transformation yielded 16 items (domains).

Assessments

This paper includes a few assessments including

Satisfied with Satisfaction

>Satisfy is an Action whereas Satisfaction is a feeling.  In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) a feeling can be changed or avoided with the thinking that precedes a potential feeling.  In other words to feel different, especially with uncomfortable feelings, you might benefit by changing your thinking.  Changing your thinking may involve extensive re-programming.  We prefer the workbook approach for thorough re-programming.  Right now after months (2024-2025) of re-work the magnitude of my feelings are normalizing.

Satisfied versus Satisfaction

"Satisfied" means to be pleased with something, or to have received what you wanted.  "Satisfaction" is the feeling of fulfillment that comes from receiving something you wanted or doing something you wanted to do.

Define Satisfaction

The fulfillment of one's wishes, expectations, or needs, or the pleasure derived from this.

Satisfaction Stratified (See if you know the definition before you look)

Term

Definition

Appeasement

It can also refer to the process of placating or pacifying others in situations of potential or actual conflict.

Contentment

Contentment is the state of being happy and satisfied. On Thanksgiving when you think about all you are grateful for, hopefully you feel a sense of contentment. If not, have another piece of pie and then you'll feel contentment. Contentment isn't an excited kind of happy, it's more like a peaceful ease of mind.

Delight

Please (someone) greatly.

Enjoyment

The state or process of taking pleasure in something.

Fulfillment

The achievement of something desired, promised, or predicted. The meeting of a requirement or condition.

Gratification

The state of being gratified; great satisfaction. Synonyms: comfort, enjoyment, delight, relish, pleasure. Something that gratifies; source of pleasure or satisfaction. The act of gratifying.

Happiness

Typically, happiness is an emotional state characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction, contentment, and fulfillment. While happiness has many different definitions, it is often described as involving positive emotions and life satisfaction. May 20, 2024

Joy

Feeling of great pleasure or happiness. A feeling of great pleasure or happiness that comes from success, good fortune, or a sense of well-being: gladness. Something that gives joy. A joy to behold.  Nov 26, 2024

Define Satisfaction (Cont)

The fulfillment of one's wishes, expectations, or needs, or the pleasure derived from this.

Term

Definition

Pleasure

Enjoyment or satisfaction derived from what is to one's liking; gratification; delight. Worldly or frivolous enjoyment: the pursuit of pleasure. Recreation or amusement; diversion; enjoyment: are you traveling on business or for pleasure?

Pride

A feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired.

Relish

Enjoyment of or delight in something that satisfies one's tastes, inclinations, or desires. Eat with great relish. A strong liking: Inclination.

Self-content

Self-content is a state of being happy and satisfied with what you have, and not wanting more. It can also mean being very pleased with yourself and not criticizing yourself. For example, you might describe someone as "perfectly self-content".

Self-satisfaction

Excessive satisfaction with oneself or one's achievements; smug complacency.

Sense of achievement

A sense of achievement is a feeling of pride that comes from accomplishing something difficult and worthwhile. It can also contribute to a sense of confidence in one's abilities and overall well-being.

Sense of well-being

A sense of well-being is a combination of feeling good and functioning well, and is generally associated with positive emotions like happiness and contentment:

Triumph

The joy or exultation of victory or success

Can a consumer make a medical diagnosis via assessment?

Yes, consumers can utilize diagnostic assessments, particularly through direct-to-consumer (DTC) testing, but the scope and implications differ significantly from medical diagnosis performed by healthcare professionals.  No, consumers cannot and should not make a formal medical diagnosis based solely on self-assessment, even with the aid of readily available online resources or direct-to-consumer (DTC) tests.

AI and Diagnostic Assessment

AI and diagnostic assessment is the use of artificial intelligence to analyze patient data, such as medical images, genetic information, and electronic health records, to aid in the detection and diagnosis of diseases. These AI tools can also be used for personalized treatment planning, predictive analytics, and enhanced patient monitoring.

Can AI make a medical diagnosis?

Yes, AI can diagnose medical conditions. AI algorithms are increasingly used to analyze medical images, patient data, and other information to assist in the diagnosis of various diseases. AI can help with the speed and accuracy of diagnoses, particularly in areas like radiology and early disease detection. However, it's important to remember that AI is currently used as a tool to support, not replace, qualified medical professionals.

What is the value of self assessment?

Self-assessment is valuable for both personal and professional growth, fostering self-awareness, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and promoting continuous improvement. It allows individuals to take ownership of their development, leading to better decision-making, goal setting, and overall well-being.

Outcomes

>How did our whole life come out?  For one, amazingly we survived to retirement (age 66) and many of our measures scores are improving.  We have more or less accepted our Quality of Life.  For us the preeminent things are our: Roommate, sleep, rest, medication, and driving our car related.  Generally, we have at least one important thing under each Domain of Life (Domains of Functioning).  After achieving several above average marks we would say our life is just below average for a 66 year old.  We will be more satisfied if we can get someone or something to take our Advanced Planning such as our Advanced Euthanasia Directive (AED) seriously.  We have contacted EOLCCA.  They were not of much help.  They referred us to

Domain Thinking

>In organizing our thinking about Health and Human Services (HHS) we discovered what we call “Domain Thinking” back in 2007.  We organize our plans and work about Domains of Life (AKA Domains of Functioning).  We have fifteen (15) Domains of Life.

Change your thinking – Change your feelings

"Change your thinking - change your feelings" means that by actively altering your thought patterns and perspective on a situation, you can directly influence and modify the emotions you experience, essentially controlling your feelings by managing your thoughts.

Key points about this concept:

Thoughts precede feelings:

Your mind's interpretation of events largely determines how you feel about them.

Cognitive re-framing:

By consciously re-framing a negative thought into a more positive one, you can shift your emotional response.

Mindfulness practice:

Being aware of your thoughts as they arise allows you to identify and challenge negative thinking patterns.

Mutability of Satisfaction

Mutability means the quality of being changeable.  The feeling of Satisfaction can be altered by the way you think.  Therefore Satisfaction is Mutable.

Weighting in Assessment

Weighting in assessment refers to the practice of assigning different levels of importance, often represented as percentages or numerical values, to various assessment components when calculating an overall grade or score. This means some assessments [or Items] contribute more to the final result than others.

Transformation Skills

>Since 2001 our assessment transformation skills have vastly improved.  We normalize outcomes about percents.  With deficits-based assessments Lower Scores are Favorable whereas with strengths-based assessments Higher Scores are Favorable.  In the transformation we also align answers as all deficits-based or all strengths-based.

Data collected by sleep trackers and apps can raise privacy concerns.

Data collected by sleep trackers and apps can raise significant privacy concerns because they gather highly sensitive personal health information, such as heart rate, activity levels, and sleep patterns, which can be stored in the cloud and accessed by third parties for advertising or other purposes. This sensitive data is vulnerable to data breaches, potentially leading to identity theft or misuse for malicious or commercial gain, and can even reveal intimate details about users' lives if combined with other data sources.

"Peace of Mind" guarantees to help customers feel secure and "sleep at night".

A "Peace of Mind" guarantee helps customers feel secure by protecting their investment and building trust in your brand. The structure and specific components will depend on your industry and the nature of your products or services. A strong guarantee provides assurance and, in some cases, can even become a key selling point.

Right to Sleep

The "right to sleep" is not explicitly stated as a fundamental human right in international law, but it is increasingly recognized as a necessary component of health and well-being. Several legal cases and scholarly articles argue that sleep deprivation can constitute a form of torture or cruel and unusual punishment, highlighting the importance of sleep for physical and mental health.

  • The Best Fitness Tracker + Sleep Tracker Combo: Garmin Venu 3, $449.

Environmental Tracking Device

An environmental tracking device monitors and logs changes in environmental factors like air quality, temperature, humidity, and water conditions, often providing real-time alerts and data through a mobile or web-based app for various applications, including personal health, supply chain integrity, and infrastructure protection in industries like data centers, healthcare, and manufacturing.

Statistical Cures

>Across 1000 or so questions if the person achieves 90% or above proficiency they might be considered “Cured” statistically.  A typical cure would be when someone does not require medication to maintain normalcy.  Can bipolar be cured?

Curing Bi-polar Disorder

No, bipolar disorder is a chronic condition that can't be cured, but it can be managed with treatment. Early diagnosis is important for getting better. With proper treatment, people with bipolar disorder can live healthy, fulfilling lives. A medical professional can create a treatment plan that may include…

Example of Early Work in Assessment (2000-2009)

>Before 2007 Buster had engaged in assessment within Health & Human Services.  He had worked out a few instruments such as anxiety, mania, depression, and anger.  He used The Burn’s Depression Checklist as a model for some of his instruments.  Buster’s Mania Tool first appears in our database (TRCBase) on July 7, 2001.  At the time Buster was seeing his Kaiser Permanente helper Joyce Alessi.  He shared his instrument with her and she indicated it was good enough for here to apply it to her work.
