What is Perception?
Perception is the process of becoming aware of something through the senses or the mind. It involves organizing, interpreting, and understanding sensory information to make sense of the world around us. Essentially, it's how we experience and interpret the world through our senses and cognitive processes.
Information Processing
Information processing refers to the cognitive processes involved in acquiring, storing, retrieving, and using information. It's how the mind takes in, interprets, and acts upon information from the environment, similar to how a computer processes data. This involves various stages, including sensory input, short-term memory, and long-term memory, with encoding and retrieval being crucial steps.
How are Brain-Mind-Behavior Related?
The brain, mind, and behavior are intricately
interconnected, with the brain acting as the physical organ that
enables mental processes, which in turn influence our actions. Changes in brain
structure or function can affect thoughts, emotions, and ultimately, behavior.
Conversely, behaviors and experiences can lead
to changes in the brain.
